Putting in the time... and more time

So, with less than four weeks to go on the training portion of this trip, it's time to take it up a notch. My dad called up a representative for America by Bicycle and they suggested that while what we've been doing is good ( 3 - 4 hours a day), they would like to see us bring it to the next level and really start to put some more hours in the saddle (5 - 6 hours a day). I for one am not going to disregard the advice of the very people who do this kind of thing for a living, so today will be a Lord of the Ring's marathon, the only movie I could think of that has that kind of length to it.

Today I am shooting for 6 total hours, I will most likely have to dismount and stretch/eat because let's face it I'm still sitting in the basement why not take a break or two if I'm feeling tight or hungry. Keeping my eye on the weather reports everyday to see if maybe we can break that forty degree barrier and I can get some real riding done in the great outdoors, but so far it looks like LOTR saga and Harry Potter movies for the foreseeable future.

Until next time! Leave it on the road!
